  • Senior Legal Analyst

  • Overview

    The Senior Legal Analyst will support ACA’s Legal Department. Position will expose candidate to consumer finance and commercial lending industries, including litigation management, regulatory compliance, and business transactions.

      • Work with in-house and outside counsel on consumer and commercial litigation, in federal and state courts, across a nationwide scope
      • Perform legal analysis including law-to-fact application
      • Assist counsel with resolving consumer and commercial disputes
      • Prepare initial drafts of pleadings and motions using templates
      • Proofread, cite check, and Bluebook documents to be filed with courts
      • Propound and respond to discovery using templates
      • Research federal and state laws including: Truth In Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and laws restricting unfair and deceptive acts and practices
      • Monitor legal developments in consumer finance industry


    Escalated Consumer Complaints including CFPB Complaints

      • Identify, record, categorize, investigate, monitor, prepare responses to, analyze, and retain consumer-initiated litigation and complaints
      • Account-level review of factual information and compliance-related issues
      • Draft responses to consumers, regulating agencies, and other parties, using templates where available.
      • Prepare executive-level analysis and reporting on consumer complaints, including trend spotting and root cause analysis


    Other Duties

    • Intake of legal requests, including factual and legal research into matters brought to the legal department
    • Conduct public record searches and other document review
    • Maintain legal files and records in an organized and accessible manner
    • Other duties as assigned



    • Excellent analytical skills, strong sense of initiative and organization, and an ability to communicate clearly with internal and external parties
    • Computer skills should include MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Windows, internet navigation, and an ability to learn new systems 
    • Bachelor’s degree and three years’ work experience required
    • Experience with an in-house legal department a plus
    • Paralegal certificate preferred


    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment like computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday, with some schedule variations as needed.



    This position will not require travel.
