Overview:
American Credit Acceptance is seeking a skilled System Administrator / Jira Administrator to manage and support our Atlassian suite of tools. The ideal candidate will oversee the deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of Atlassian tools, as well as diagnose and resolve system-level issues for internal stakeholders. This role will also involve configuring, managing, and optimizing Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, and Jira Service Desk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and upgrade Atlassian Data Center applications (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira Service Desk).
- Automate continuous development and integration processes.
- Develop and enhance ITIL/DevSecOps-based processes.
- Manage user permissions for tools based on project and team needs.
- Perform regular system and application administration tasks, including backups and scheduled jobs.
- Test new versions and plugins for compatibility.
- Implement and maintain Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and access controls.
- Improve Jira security and optimize system performance.
- Provide training and documentation for technical and non-technical users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, working closely with the Service Desk team to improve platform performance and user experience.
- Conduct business process analysis and develop system requirements.
- Provide technical assistance and support for advanced user-level requests.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to meet user needs and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and manage user access across systems.
- Produce ad-hoc reports and dashboards in Jira.
- Monitor system events, triage issues, and escalate as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5-7 years of experience administering IT servers and applications.
- At least 2 years of experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira Service Desk).
- Proficiency with MS Windows Server (2016-2022) and Red Hat Linux Enterprise (8.x, 9.x).
- Strong experience with Atlassian Data Center applications, including installation, configuration, migration, and plugin management.
- Knowledge of Jira administration (projects, workflows, permissions, and JQL).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Experience with database administration is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Strong work ethic with effective time management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Experience with security configurations and event monitoring.
